DATABASE SELECTION PAGE

Select a search item then enter a word or phrase for which to search. The search item is a data field in the database. The word or phrase you enter in the text box is the value for which you are searching. Selecting two or more fields will restrict your search to those items which contain both selections. Once you have selected a field or fields to search and the value you are looking for, click the Submit button.

You can click on the thumbnail index box at the bottom of the page. This will show you first all the thumbnail images corresponding to the selection you have made. You can then click on the thumbnail to get further information. Remember that not all the records have thumbnails so this method may restrict your search.

NOTE that the Database is only partially complete. It is being updated all the time but for now you may find fields or images missing.

Couturier

If you search By Couturier's Name, use the last name to search. e.g. for Lucien Lelong type "Lelong" or Pauline Trigere type "Trigere". If you search by Type, click on the dropdown box and select a Type. Then press the Submit Button.

Country

If you search by Country, click on the dropdown box and select a Country. Then press the Submit Button. If you search by Materials, click on the dropdown box and select the type of material. Then press the Submit Button.

Inventory #

If you search by Inventory #, enter the Inventory # and then press the Submit Button. You must including leading 0s if any - e.g. '009', '081', 'E020'.

Date

These are examples of the date format you can search by:

1926

1926c = about 1926

1920s = from the 1920s

1920s early = early in the 1920s

1920s mid = middle of the 1920s

1920s late = in the late 1920s
